DAVE GROHL Furious With BUSH's Use Of His Track At Campaign Rally
August 31, 2004World Entertainment News Network is reporting that former NIRVANA drummer and current FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl is furious after learning President George W. Bush used the FOO FIGHTERS track "Times Like These" at a campaign rally.
The mastermind behind the PROBOT project is a staunch supporter of Bush's Democratic rival John Kerry, and didn't appreciate Bush using his song in a political arena.
"I don't give a shit if he likes our band, but I take it personally when a politician that doesn't represent my personal beliefs uses music that I poured my heart and soul into for his personal gain," said Grohl.
Rather than issuing a cease-and-desist letter, Grohl "took action" by performing at a recently rally for Kerry in Iowa, where he played "My Hero", "Times Like These" and "Learn To Fly".
He added, "I sang those songs, which are supposed to represent love, hope and compassion for a person that I believe represents all of those things."
